On September 22, 2017, a couple experienced a series of alarming encounters while bear hunting in the Hellroaring Canyon on Pack River. The wife first noticed a large black figure, estimated to be around eight feet tall, moving through the saplings just 100 yards away. Although the sighting only lasted for a brief moment, she was confident that what she saw was not a bear or a person.
Later, as they were driving back from the hunting trip, the husband, who has a background in hunting and logging, also spotted a similar black figure. This figure, estimated to be of similar height and width, had no ears or snout, resembling the description of Bigfoot. The husband observed the figure for around twenty seconds before it stepped behind a tamarack tree, partly concealing itself. Despite attempting to aim through his rifle scope, the figure disappeared before he could get a closer look. Further down the road, the husband noticed branches moving at a height of seven feet, as if something tall had swiftly passed through them.
Both individuals were deeply shaken by the experiences, with the husband feeling nauseated and upset during and after the sightings. Given his extensive hunting and forestry background, he is considered a credible witness.
